Who We Support

Supporting professionals working with eating disorders, disordered eating, and neurodivergence

Our work recognises the complexity of these presentations and the need for thoughtful, inclusive, and ethically grounded practice.

We aim to support clinicians across a wide range of professional roles, settings, and stages of experience.

Professionals we work with

Our training and supervision is designed for professionals including (but not limited to):

  • Counsellors and psychotherapists

  • Psychologists and psychological therapists

  • Dietitians and nutrition professionals

  • Occupational therapists

  • Allied health professionals

  • Coaches and practitioners working within eating disorder services

  • Students and trainees in relevant professional training

Training content assumes a professional or trainee context and is not intended for the general public.

Occasionally, NEDDE Training offers public-facing sessions. Where this is the case, it is clearly stated in the training description so participants can make an informed decision about suitability.

Client groups our work focuses on

The clinicians we support often work with individuals who experience:

  • Eating disorders and disordered eating

  • Neurodivergence, including autism, ADHD, PDA, and related profiles

  • Restrictive eating, binge eating, purging behaviours, and ARFID

  • Body image distress and weight stigma

  • Co-occurring trauma, anxiety, and mental health difficulties

Our training encourages clinicians to move beyond one-size-fits-all approaches and to work responsively with the individual in front of them.

Neurodivergent-affirming practice

A core focus of NEDDE Training is supporting clinicians to work in neurodivergent-affirming ways.

This means:

  • Valuing difference rather than pathologising it

  • Understanding sensory, cognitive, and communication differences

  • Adapting therapeutic approaches rather than expecting compliance

  • Recognising the impact of systems, environments, and stigma

Training integrates clinical knowledge, research, and lived experience to support ethical, inclusive practice.

Across settings and contexts

We support professionals working in a range of settings, including:

  • NHS services

  • Private practice

  • Charities and third-sector organisations

  • Education and training environments

  • Community and specialist services

Our training is relevant whether you are early in your career or highly experienced and seeking to deepen specialist knowledge.

What our training is — and is not

NEDDE Training supports:

  • Professional development

  • Reflective practice

  • Ethical, informed clinical decision-making

It does not:

  • Replace therapy or treatment

  • Provide diagnostic instruction

  • Offer crisis or emergency support

Training is intended to complement, not replace, existing professional frameworks and responsibilities.

A collaborative and reflective approach

We believe effective support sits at the intersection of:

  • Clinical expertise

  • Ongoing reflection

  • Collaboration with other professionals

  • Respect for lived experience

Our work supports clinicians to think critically, work flexibly, and continue developing their practice in ways that centre safety, dignity, and inclusion.
