About
Mel, a highly experienced and neurodivergent registered nutritionist, specialises in intuitive eating, non-diet nutrition, and counselling for eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image concerns. Having personally overcome an eating disorder at 16, she developed a deep interest in food and nutrition, which has fuelled her passion for the past 13 years. Mel's career journey included lecturing in nutrition and applied physiology since 1997, although she faced challenges and never quite reached her self-imposed standards. After experiencing burnouts, she made the decision to leave academia in 2017 and embarked on a personal mission to help individuals struggling with their relationship with food find freedom and inner peace. Her focus extends to midlife women, who encounter additional obstacles such as ageism, menopause transitions, and anti-fat bias in their pursuit of a healthful life.
